Chalkless Chosen by MLB for Year-Long Study
Chalkless LLC is proud to announce that its Chalkless™ patents-pending grip-enhancing technology has been chosen by Major League Baseball, MLB, for a year-long study in its Professional Development Leagues at the Double-A Level. Chalkless is a non-toxic material that absorbs oil and repels both water and sweat thereby enhancing grip for athletes in all sports. By making baseballs more grippable for pitchers and more visible to hitters and other players, Chalkless aims to enhance every aspect of America’s favorite sport, including on field safety.
Over the past 18 months, Chalkless and its dedicated team of scientists and engineers have developed a proprietary process to enhance the grip and playability of baseballs. Chalkless was tested in the Arizona Fall League and at the Triple-A level in 2021 with promising results. Red Sox Hall of Fame Executive, Dan Duquette whose company Duquette Consulting is representing Chalkless said, ”We are encouraged with initial results and feedback from elite end users of Chalkless, and we’re working closely with all our stakeholders to provide a customized solution for consistent grip and enhanced ball playability for athletes and leagues at all levels.”
Chalkless CEO Greg Pope added, “This study with MLB is a very large step in our effort to improve grip and playability for athletes across all sports around the world. Our fundamental objective is to eliminate variability from ball to ball which is ever present with Mud, and has been since its inception. We are on a path to making this a reality by automating the process, so that the ball is the same in Boston as it is in Arizona. It is both gratifying and humbling to know that we are on a path that will allow us to help even the world’s most elite athletes improve their performance.”
